Our School Garden: By Phoebe

On the 26th of April, we went to the school garden to do some planting. When we went in, Jo Mohan and Sadie Keane were there, getting everything ready for us to plant. There were different patches full of soil. There were lots of pots, filled with vegetables and flowers to plant.

We got started. We used a shovel to dig rows for the vegetables. We got onions and rocket and placed them a few inches apart in rows. We got the soil and patted it down on the vegetables when they were in. Then we pulled all the weeds from the soil.

We also planted lots of colourful flowers, using the same method as the vegetables. We took them out of the pots, put them in deep holes in the soil and patted the soil around them. We planted other vegetables too.

Tara was in charge of the hose. When everything was planted, she poured lots of water on the soil and in pots, managing to spray a few of us on the way.

The garden looked really nice when we were done and it was good fun!
